Tens of thousands of passengers have been delayed since Wednesday night because of drone devices repeatedly flying over the airfield at the U.K.'s London Gatwick Airport, BBC reports.

Why it matters: Gatwick is one of the U.K.'s busiest airports — roughly 110,000 passengers on 760 flights were scheduled to fly on Thursday. Passengers have been told that the disruption could be for "several days" and that the runway will not be reopened "until it [is] safe to do so."
