Drogheda United land striker Ronan Murray ahead of Premier Division mission

Ronan Murray believes Drogheda United will have the street smarts to survive in the Premier Division.

The striker is the First Division champions' latest signing ahead of their Premier Division mission this year.

Mayo man Murray arrives from Sligo Rovers having previously played for Dundalk, Galway United, Notts County and Ipswich Town.

Drogs boss Tim Clancy had already snapped up experienced campaigners Dane Massey, Gary Deegan and Dinny Corcoran.

And Murray said: “Tim got on the phone and I was delighted to get the call.

“Winning is a good habit and Drogheda have that from last year. They have also signed a good mix with Premier Division experience.

“Hopefully we can survive first of all and then see where we go from there. The main targets would be to establish a good starting 11 that competes every week.

“I’ve full faith that Tim will do that and that we can establish ourselves in the Premier Division and build on that.”

And on his own goals in 2021, Murray said: “To get back on the pitch, get minutes under my belt and fight for my place.”
