BHOPAL: There were clouds and showers in Bhopal on Friday night. Rainfall activity was witnessed in other parts of the state too. Strong showers are expected in the state for a week.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, the monsoon trough is passing over from Sagar in MP. A low-pressure area is developing over west Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas and there is also a circulation over north east Arabian sea. The systems and moisture feeding due to it would continue rainfall activity in the state till August 14 and many places may also receive heavy showers.
Day temperature in Bhopal was 32.9 degrees Celsius while night temperature was 23.4 degrees. The places that recorded showers between 8.30am and 5.30pm in the day were Gwalior (54.6mm), Mandla (6), Indore (5.2), Betul (5), Sagar (1), Damoh (1), Satna (0.8) and Bhopal (0.4).
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday, there would be cloudy sky with thunder and rain and one or two spells may be heavy. Day and night temperatures would be 32 and 23 degrees respectively.
The meteorological officials issued warning of heavy showers for places including Betul, Harda, Dhar, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone and Dewas districts. A warning of thunder and lightning was issued for Rewa, Shahdol, Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions.
