Driving to Durham Miners' Gala? Park and ride information for Big Meeting

Roads will be closed to traffic in Durham to allow for thousands to march through the city's annual Miners' Gala.

If you are planning to drive to the Gala, then it is advised you use one of three large park and ride car parks which serve Durham. You can also  park at Houghall campus.

Where are Durham's park and ride car parks?

  • Belmont, DH1 1SR
  • Howlands Farm, DH1 3TQ
  • Sniperley, DH1 5RA

It costs £2 per person, you can park until 7.00pm, get unlimited travel on the park and ride buses for the day and use the Cathedral Bus for free.

Under 16s are free if they're accompanied by an adult over 21.
