Driving tests resume in Scotland from Monday - everything you need to know

Learners will be able to book a driving test again from Monday in Scotland, with plans to add more tests per day.

The DVSA are extending the period in which tests are available from 6 weeks to 18 weeks ahead, adding over 375,000 more test appointments until the end of January 2021.

Although the driving test booking service reopened on Monday the 7th, the DVSA has closed the booking system until next week to add new dates.

As well as making tests available to book 18 weeks ahead, DVSA plans to increase the number of car driving tests per day from 5 to 6 as instructors use hygiene measures.

The DVSA has reminded learners you must be test-ready by the time of your test, as learners are only able to see and book appointments available within the next 18 weeks and they could be at short notice.

There are no waiting or cancellation lists.
