Drivers urged to remember restrictions on reopened M32 slip road

Drivers are being reminded about restrictions on the recently reopened northbound exit slip road of the M32 at Junction 2 near Eastville.

Only cars and motorcycles up to three tonnes in weight are able to use the slip road, which reopened at the weekend following a fire which caused damage under the road in February.

All other vehicles should continue using the official diversion via Junction 1 and the southbound Junction 2 slip road, or take an alternative route.

Chris Regan, Head of Service Delivery at Highways England said: “We’d like to thank drivers for their support, and must stress that only cars and motorcycles up to three tonnes in weight should use the slip road.

“By keeping lighter vehicles only on the road, we can ensure no further damage is done to it which would lengthen the repairs and cause further disruption to drivers.”

Highways England is the government-owned company responsible for modernising, maintaining and operating England’s motorways and major A roads.
