Drivers to face delays at Glasgow Airport as roadworks set to begin

Motorists travelling to and from Glasgow Airport are being advised of some road traffic management measures in place to repair a collapsed sewer.

Delays are expected on Inchinnan Road to enable Scottish Water to deal with the problem.

Engineers will begin work on the stretch of road between its junctions with Fleming Street and Galloway Avenue, from Thursday, October 24.

The closure will come into effect from 8am on Thursday and expected to be completed by Sunday evening (October 27).

Local diversions will be in operation and road users are asked to follow diversion signs.

A spokesman for Scottish Water said:  "People using the roads in this area at this time are advised to allow extra time for their journey.

"Although Inchinnan Road is not on the main route into and out of Glasgow Airport, it is used by some people travelling to and from the airport.

"We have liaised with Renfrewshire Council’s roads department, Glasgow Airport, the emergency services and bus companies when planning the road traffic management.

"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience."
