A number of drivers have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Miles Platting .
Two cars collided with each other on Varley Street on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash between a silver VW Golf and a blue Ford Fiesta happened at the junction of Oldham Road and Colyhurst Street.
Police were called at around 1.40pm.
North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
GMP confirmed that a number of people were taken to hospital.
The exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.
Injuries are not thought to be serious at this time.
The road was closed off by police between Oldham Road and Sawley Road shortly after the incident.
It reopened at around 4.30pm.
