Drivers' miracle escape as lorry plunges from bridge landing upside down on road

Motorists had a miracle escape after a lorry plunged from a bridge and landed upside down on a main road below.

The Parcel Force vehicle crashed through the barriers on a flyover in Reading near The Oracle Shopping Centre at around 4.20pm.

After flipping over, the lorry landed on its roof, with the driver managing to clamber from the cab without any serious injuries.

The driver was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, reports GetReading .

Incredibly, the road below the flyover happened to be car-free in the moment the lorry fell from above.

Roads around the Oracle, including the A329, were closed as police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene.
