“Drivers License” singer Olivia Rodrigo joked that driving “isn’t all fun and games” after receiving a parking ticket.

The 18-year-old singer and actor rocketed to the top of the charts around the world earlier this year after releasing her debut single in January.

In the track, which is the biggest song of 2021 so far, Rodrigo describes driving around her suburban hometown after receiving her driver’s license following a break-up.

However, on Sunday (11 April), the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star shared that her driving had got her in trouble as she received a parking violation notice from the city of Los Angeles.

“Damn this driving s*** isn’t all fun and games,” she wrote.

“Drivers License” was an unexpected hit for Rodrigo, breaking Spotify’s record for single-day streams – excluding holiday songs – as well as having the biggest first week for a song on Spotify and Amazon Music.

Its success was largely due to TikTok and the alleged backstory behind the song regarding Rodrigo’s rumoured former relationship with her HSM:TM:TS co-star Joshua Bassett.

Neither party has confirmed whether they were together or what the song was about.

Earlier this month, Rodrigo released her follow-up single “Deja Vu”. Both singles will appear on her debut album *O*R, which is released on 21 May.
