Drivers hit with fines totalling £600 by police in West Lothian for having no insurance

Two drivers in West Lothian have been hit with fines totaling hundreds after being stopped by police.

On Sunday (May 26), a vehicle on a road in Whitburn was stopped by Road Police.

The driver was found to have no insurance and was issued with a conditional offer at the roadside of six penalty points and a £300 fine.

Yesterday (May 27), another driver was clocked by police in Livingston.

Once again, the vehicle was not insured and the driver was hit with six penalty points and a £300 fine. The vehicle was also seized by police.

Road Policing Scotland shared a picture of the vehicle on Twitter and said: "If they want their vehicle back they will need to insure it and pay the fees for its recovery and storage."
