Drivers handed €60 fines after they are caught using bus and cycle lanes across Dublin

A number of drivers have been prosecuted and face a €60 fine after using Dublin's bus and cycle lanes.

Gardai have been carrying out bus lane enforcements across the city this week.

They have revealed that 17 drivers were caught out on Cork Street in the south inner city and will now receive the fix charged penalty notice.

They said: "17 drivers prosecuted by way of FCPN's for illegal parking on Cork Street Dublin 8. Gardaí appeal to motorists not to park in Bus/Cycle lanes. This is an ongoing operation."

They also carried out inspections on Harold's Cross Road, and said that they have received positive feedback from road users.

An Garda Siochana continued: "DMR South Roads Policing conducted Bus Lane enforcement on Harold's Cross Road.

"For those that complied with Bus Lane thank you and those who didn't a Fixed Charge Notice of €60 will be issued. Positive feedback from pedal cyclists, motorists and taxi drivers."
