Drivers flee and abandon cars in road after huge smash

Two cars were left abandoned in the road after a head-on crash.

Police were called to Cheetham at around 8pm on Tuesday evening.

Officers from Greater Manchester Traffic Police found a blue and silver car.

The bonnets of both cars were smashed, leaving the inner workings of the car in full view and debris scattered across the road.

'Luckily no injuries', according to officers who attended the scene (GMP Traffic)

The drivers left the scene and were later traced by officers, according to a the force.

No injuries were reported from the collision.

Both drivers have now been traced, say officers (GMP Traffic)

In a tweet, GMP Traffic said: "Attended a head-on RTC this evening at GMP Cheetham Two vehicles left in the road, one causing obstruction on the bend, was recovered.

"Drivers traced, luckily no injuries reported."
