Drivers facing rush hour delays as traffic lights down on busy city centre road

Drivers are facing travel chaos in the city centre as rush hour hits after a set of traffic lights on a busy road have stopped working.

The traffic signals, at the junction of Cowcaddens Road and Port Dundas Road are currently down, with Glasgow City Council stating they will be off until further notice.

The fault in the lights require new equipment, with no indication as to how long they will be out of service.

The council have urged drivers to take care when approaching the junction.

A statement from the local authority reads: "The traffic signals at the junction of Cowcaddens Road and Port Dundas Road will remain off until further notice. Equipment is required to be replaced before the traffic signals are safe to switch on.

Road users should approach this junction with care."
