A section of the M8 is blocked after a three car crash, sparking chaotic scenes on the motorway.
Traffic Scotland first alerted motorists to the scene at 7.45am, when they tweeted about the incident near Shawhead.
They confirmed both lanes 3 and 3 of the eastbound road, between J7A , remain blocked, with traffic backed up.
They tweeted: “NEW 07:45 #M8 E/B J7A to J7, 3 car RTC blocking lanes 3 and 4. TRISS en route, have just arrived on scene. Traffic heavy on approach. #Glasgow @ScotTranserv ”
All emergency services and TRISS are on scene.
