Drivers face major delays as Kelvindale Road shut for emergency gas repairs

Drivers are being warned to prepare for major disruption in the north and west end of the city from today.

Kelvindale Road has been closed to motorists from this afternoon (Friday) as SGN carry out emergency gas repairs at the junction with Maryhill Road.

It means that huge delays are expected in the area, especially at peak times.

A statement from council traffic officers reads: "In order to undertake emergency SGN repair works at the junction of Kelvindale Road and Maryhill Road it will be necessary to close Kelvindale Road, between Maryhill Road and Cleveden Road. These closures will come into effect on Friday (October 25) until completion of these works.

"Significant delays can be expected, especially at peak times."

Diversions will be in place and signposted as follows:

1. Maryhill Road, Cowal Road Cleveden Road to Kelvindale Road.

2. Maryhill Road, Garrioch Road, Kirklee Road, Great Western Road, Cleveden Road to Kelvindale Road
