A MAJOR road in Edinburgh is partially blocked due to “multiple incidents,” including a crash, which has led to long delays.
Drivers have been warned they face delays on the A720 after the emergency services were called to the bypass between Straiton and Lothianburn junctions at around 1.24pm on Sunday.
Traffic Scotland has warned that motorists face around 30-minute delays due to the road being blocked following the collision, with queues building in the area.
The condition of those involved is not currently known, but it is understood that a broken-down vehicle has been removed from the carriageway.
Traffic Scotland said in an update on Twitter/X: “Accident - May 31, 1.24pm.
“Location, A720(W) Straiton - Lothianburn. The A720 Westbound between Straiton and Lothianburn is currently partially blocked due to a road traffic incident.”
In an update, the traffic operator added: “The A720 is currently heavily congested WB due to multiple incidents.
“There's a broken down vehicle at Baberton and a road traffic collision at Calder. Delays approx. 31 minutes currently.”
