The drivers of two cars escaped without serious injuries after a crash in Levenshulme.
Emergency services were called to the smash on Stockport Road just before 9.45pm last night (Wednesday).
Pictures showed a number of fire crews, police cars and an ambulance at the scene on the A6 as a section of the road was closed off.
Police have now confirmed that two cars were involved in a collision.
No-one was seriously injured, the force said.
One woman was rescued from a car before being taken to hospital, the fire service said.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 9.43pm last night (4 June 2021) police were called to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on Stockport Road, Levenshulme.
"Emergency services attended and the road was closed while recovery of the vehicles took place.
"No serious injuries were reported."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 10pm on Thursday June 3, firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars on Stockport Road, Manchester.
“Two fire engines from Gorton and Whitehill, and the Technical Rescue Unit from Ashton arrived quickly at the scene.
"Firefighters worked with colleagues from North West Ambulance Service to rescue one woman from a vehicle before she was conveyed to hospital by NWAS.
"Three other people were transferred to the care of colleagues from NWAS. Crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes.”
