Many people like to look out for their fellow drivers , whether that’s letting them know if there’s something wrong with their vehicle or they don’t have their lights on when they should.
Some even make sure to alert other motorists when there are speed cameras in the area.
But if you’re one of these people then be warned - you could end up with a £1,000 fine.
One driver discovered this the hard way after he was caught "waving frantically" to other drivers to tell them about a passing mobile speed camera on the A30 near Launceston, reports Coventry Live .
Posting on the Devon and Cornwall Police No Excuse Twitter page, an officer wrote: “Driving and waving frantically at our unmarked vehicle to ‘warn’ us of the camera van on the #A30 is not the smartest move.
"The excuse was that he doesn’t like speeders but he doesn’t want them being ‘caught’ either! Driver reported for the offence.”
The officer said that the driver was reported for obstructing the police, which carries a maximum penalty of one month's imprisonment and/or a fine of up to £1,000.
