Many drivers have been left baffled after being told that the speed camera sign isn't depicting what they think it is.
NottinghamshireLive and Yorkshire Live report that many drivers have assumed that the picture is a side profile of an old-fashioned camera - however, one Twitter user claims that this is wrong.
Social media user @FeyeraBender wrote: "For years I thought the UK speed camera sign depicted a Victorian bellows camera pointing to the right, but it's just a boring CCTV camera pointing towards the viewer.

"I accept that it's not CCTV because that's literally different technology, but w/e the stuff on the right is definitely an arm attachment and not old-timey bellows!"
Fellow Twitter users were left in disbelief that the symbol on one of the most recognisable signs on UK roads wasn't what they had always believed it to be.
One said: "Oh my God, I can't unsee it now. It's always been a bellow camera to me." While another said: "You’ve upset me greatly."
However, others refused to accept the new reality saying: "Don't worry it's not true, so you can all still carry on being enchanted."
Another wrote: "Stop lying, it is a bellows camera." Another simply added: "I don't accept it."
