Drivers are advised to avoid the Peacock Cross area in Hamilton for the time being if possible.
South Lanarkshire Council posted on their Facebook page to warn motorists as they make emergency repairs to the power supply.
They posted: "A partial closure on the Almada Street approach to the junction, for emergency repairs to the power supply network, is causing delays."
