There has been a collision on the A4048 at Pontllanfraith in Caerphilly .
Gwent Police said they were called to the scene just before 4pm.
The A4048 is closed in both directions at Woodfieldside and traffic is slow in the area.
The incident happened between Park View Bungalows and the B4254.
It is affecting traffic travelling between Penmaen and Pentwyn-mawr.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on A4048 at Pontllanfraith.
"The road is closed and diversions are in place which may cause congestion.
"Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey."
