Driver two times drink drive limit after crash in Hanham

A driver has been found to be more than twice the drink drive limit after a car crash in Bristol.

Police attended the scene after a Peugeot crashed in the Hanham area of Bristol.

Images posted by the force show that the car had been severely damaged and come to a stop against a pole on Saturday evening.

A female driver was then breathalysed by the police and found to be twice the drink drive limit.

She will now be awaiting a court date and officers say she is likely to receive a driving ban.

Avon and Somerset Police Road Safety, found on Twitter @ASPRoadSafety, posted: “This vehicle crashed in Hanham earlier this evening. The driver was found to be over twice the drink drive limit.

“She’s now awaiting a court date where she is likely to receive a disqualification.”

It comes as a serious crash on the M5 has seen the motorway closed north of Bristol until Monday.
