Driver treated for shock after car crashes into Lanarkshire school

A driver has been treated for shock after a car crashed into a Lanarkshire school.

Thankfully no pupils or staff were injured in the incident, which occurred at Uddingston Grammar School around 8.20am, as reports the Daily Record.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland told the paper: “At 8.22am police attended Uddingston Grammar after reports of a vehicle hitting the school building.

“The driver was treated at the scene for shock but no-one was injured.

“Police are still at the scene and enquiries are still on going.”

Meanwhile the school took to Twitter regarding the incident, tweeting: "No access to school car park until further notice.

"School open as normal to pupils. Please text your children to make alternative arrangements for collection at the end of the school day."
