Driver trapped after car ploughs into garden wall

A car which came off the road ended up ploughing into someone's garden wall.

Firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue were called to Marshlands Road in Neston at 3.07am on Monday following the crash.

Once crews arrived at the scene they found a silver car had ploughed into a garden wall leaving a trail of destruction.

Pictures released by firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue's Powely Lane branch show the front of the car severely damaged.

A view from the back shows the car on top of the wall, as broken bricks surround the vehicle.

According to a spokesperson from the emergency service the driver had to be rescued through the rear hatch of the car following the crash.

Fire crews used specialist cutting equipment to release the person as they were trapped.

They said: "Overnight White Watch attended a road traffic collision where a vehicle had left the roadway, crews assisted the occupant out of the vehicle through the rear hatch of the car."

Two fire engines attended the scene, one from Powey Lane and another from Ellesmere Port and crews attended the scene for around 30 minutes.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "Shortly after 3am firefighters were dispatched to reports of a collision on Marshlands Road, Neston.

"On arrival at the scene the crews found there had been a one vehicle collision involving a car which had collided with a garden wall.

"Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release one person was trapped in the car.

"The crews then made the vehicle safe.

"Firefighters were detained at the scene for around 30 minutes."
