Driver threatened at knifepoint by man and woman in terrifying carjacking

A driver was threatened at knifepoint in a terrifying carjacking in Rochdale.

The incident happened on Kingsway just before 11pm last night (Monday).

The victim - a male driver - was threatened with a knife and told to get out of his vehicle by a man and woman, police said.

The pair then fled the scene in the vehicle.

Officers were flagged down at the scene and the vehicle was pursued.

The suspects then got out and tried to run away, but were caught by officers close to Manchester Road and Hareshill Road.

Both have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Enquiries are ongoing, a spokesperson for GMP added.
