Police have arrested a Campbell man who was caught allegedly drug driving and driving on a suspended licence twice in less than 24 hours.
About 11.35pm on Friday, July 24, police stopped a black BMW SUV turning onto Gooreen Street in Reid.
A check revealed the 47-year-old driver held a suspended licence, and he allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine during a roadside drug test.
The man was taken into custody and granted watchhouse bail early on Saturday morning under conditions that he not drive or be in possession of vehicle keys.
About 5.25pm on Saturday, July 25, police spotted the same black BMW allegedly driving along Jacka Crescent in Campbell before turning into a nearby driveway.
Officers spoke to the driver, confirmed he was the same man from the previous night and arrested him for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.
He was transported to the ACT watchhouse and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, July 27.
The 47-year-old has been charged with two counts of driving while suspended, breaching bail and driving with a prescribed drug in his blood.
