Driver taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with 'facial injury' after crash with telegraph pole

A person has been taken hospital following a crash with a telegraph pole.

The driver of a van suffered a facial injury, police say, and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment.

The incident happened in Hempshill Lane, Bulwell, at around 8.43am on February 26 and the road was closed for a number of hours.

Nottingham City Transport said its number 68 and number 69 services were affected during the closure, but have since returned to their normal route.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.43am this morning to reports of a collision in Hempshill Lane involving a car and a telegraph pole.

"The victim was taken to QMC with a facial injury. The road was reopened at 9.45am."

NCT's Yellow services returned to normal at around 10.05am, but the van remains at the scene.
