Driver taken to hospital with head injury after crashing into a tree in Durham collision

A driver was taken to hospital with a head injury after crashing head on into a tree in Durham.

Police received a report of a collision on Station Road, shortly after 3.30pm on Saturday.

It is believed the driver of the silver Mercedes sprinter was heading towards Ushaw Moor when they lost control of the vehicle while manoeuvring a bend, left the carriageway and crashed head on into a tree.

The driver was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with a head injury.

Anyone with information in relation to the collision or with dashcam footage is asked to contact PC Wells from Durham RPU on 101 quoting incident number 253 of June 26.
