A driver has been rushed to hospital after a crash in Tyldesley involving a car which was reported to police as stolen.
Officers were called out to Upper George Street at 6.12pm on Friday (September 17) following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Greater Manchester Police says that the crash involved a grey Ford Fiesta, which had previously been reported as stolen, crashing into a black Audi A5.
The occupants of the Ford all fled from the scene, GMP says, while the Audi driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large police presence on Upper George Street, close to The Railway pub, on Wareing Street.
Both cars were seen damaged following the collision.
A GMP spokesperson said: "At 6.12pm last night (September 17) police were called to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on Upper George Street, Tyldesley.
"Officers attended and enquiries established that a grey Ford Fiesta, earlier reported as stolen had collided into a black Audi A5.
"The occupants of the Ford Fiesta fled the scene.
"The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital with minor injuries."
