Driver taken to hospital after Canberra Avenue crash

A woman has been taken to hospital following a single-car crash in Fyshwick on Friday night.

The crash happened on Canberra Avenue at the intersection with the Monaro Highway just after 7pm.

An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesman said the car crashed into a road barrier at the Monaro Highway underpass, resulting in the closure of all westbound lanes on Canberra Avenue.

The woman was the only person inside the car at the time of the crash.

She was assessed by paramedics at the scene and was taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

Multiple emergency crews were tasked to clean the scene.

Westbound lanes have since reopened and traffic conditions have returned to normal in the area.

Emergency services request that drivers take care when travelling through the area.
