Driver suffers serious head injuries in crash between Audi and Chevrolet cars

A driver was taken to hospital with serious head injuries following a collision in Bolton.

The smash, involving a black Audi SQ5 and silver Chevrolet Spark, took place on New Lane, in Breightmet.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 2pm on Sunday, September 15.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a man in his 30s, suffered from serious head injuries.

Police have said he suffered 'life-threatening injuries', but his condition is now stable.

The driver of the Audi, a man also in his 30s, was not injured.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.

PC Karl Horner, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The driver of the Chevrolet Spark has very serious injuries and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either of the two vehicles before the incident or has dashcam footage which may help our enquiries to get in touch.”
