HGV driver 'struck by his own vehicle' left with life changing injuries

A HGV driver has suffered 'life-changing injuries' after being 'struck by his own vehicle'.

The M62 was closed for several hours on Wednesday morning following reports of a 'serious crash' between J7 and J8.

Sergeant Steve Smith from the Matrix Roads Policing Unit said: “We are currently working to establish what has taken place in the lead up to this incident. I would ask anyone who was travelling along the M62 close to junction 7 in the early hours of this morning who saw the vehicle or witnessed anything to contact us.

“We are also appealing for anyone with dash cam footage which could assist our investigation to get in touch.”

Weather experts predict the date that snow will fall in Liverpool

Forecasters have predicted when Liverpool will see snow this winter.

Merseyside has, up to now, experienced a fairly mild November - though we are seeing some cooler temperatures this week.

Anyone heading outside needs to wrap up warm, but it's not just the cold we need to be aware of, with the Met Office issuing a yellow wind warning for Saturday (November 27).

Snow has been forecast for some parts of Scotland this week, but weather experts have predicted that Merseyside will have a longer wait.

Man stabbed repeatedly in 'shocking' gang attack

(Liverpool Echo)

A man suffered several stab wounds and a hit to the head in a suspected ‘targeted’ gang attack.

Emergency services were called to a property on Sunners Green Close in St Helens at around 4.50pm Tuesday (November 23) afternoon following reports a man in his 30s had been stabbed.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon of Merseyside Police said: “This shocking incident appears to be a targeted attack and we are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that can help with our enquiries."
