Driver stopped for hogging motorway central lane in Manchester

A lane-hogging car driver has been pulled over and reported in Manchester after immediately taking up the central carriageway of the M60 when joining the highway.

Greater Manchester Police's traffic division tweeted at 3.56am today (Sunday) that the car was stopped at Barton Bridge, west Manchester, close to Trafford Park

It said: "This Mercedes was seen by #ME54 to join the M60 & move straight out into the middle lane, lane 1 being completely clear.

"Continued to hog the middle lane at 49mph for 1 junc! Stopped stated he didn’t want to use the ‘slow lane’ or the ‘fast lane’?! TOR (Traffic Offence Report) issued."
