Officers pulled the car over on Warrington Road in Platt Bridge in the early hours of Wednesday morning (May 13).

The driver had travelled more than 200 miles from Essex to Wigan to purchase a Volvo, police said.

The car was also found to be uninsured and the driver didn't have a driving licence.

Police seized the vehicle.

In a tweet, the traffic unit at Greater Manchester Police said: "Volvo stopped Warrington Road, Platt Bridge.
