Driver stopped by police 30 minutes after passing test

A motorist was pulled over 30 minutes after passing their driving test, police have revealed. Officers said the driver proudly produced their pass certificate when stopped, but failed to provide proof of any insurance.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit called the situation "unbelievable." A warning on the gov.uk website regarding driving without insurance, states that a driver can be issued a £300 fixed penalty fine for the offence, reports NottinghamshireLive.

They could also receive six points on their license - meaning they would have to take their test again.

A tweet from the roads policing unit reads "Long Eaton - Driver had passed their driving test 30 minutes prior to being stopped and produces pass certificate with pride. Unfortunately was slightly less proud that they could not provide proof of any insurance.
