Queensland Police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver after a 25-year-old man was knocked down and killed at Browns Plains in the City of Logan.
At about 3pm on Friday emergency services responded to reports of a pedestrian who had allegedly been hit by a white Audi wagon on Wembly Road near Greenfern Drive.
The 25-year-old Browns Plains man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police allege the Audi left the scene before officers arrived and believe a "rolling road rage" incident involving another car preceded the collision.
"It appears that these two vehicles and the occupants had been interacting with each other for a period of half an hour," Detective Inspector Paul Dalton said on Saturday.
Examining the whole incident, Det Insp Dalton said it could have been "easily avoided".
"What we have at the moment, over something that looks like a road rage incident, we have a 25-year-old male who has died, we have his family now who have to grieve for the rest of their lives (and) we have someone we suspect, the driver, to be a 20-year-old male who quite possibly could face a lengthy time in in prison," he said.
"We can go from someone getting cut off, something innocuous like that, to someone dying and homicide investigation very quickly."
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information on the incident to come forward immediately.
