Driver smashed window and stole car keys and credit card in road rage attack

A driver launched a road rage attack on another motorist - smashing a window and stealing the victim's credit card and car keys.

Police said there was a 'dispute' between the two motorists on Bramhall Lane in Davenport, Stockport, last night.

The driver of a black BMW smashed the window of a red Toyota Yaris, before stealing the victim's credit card and car keys, at about 6pm.

The victim was hospitalised but has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made, and police are appealing for information.

Officers have released a description of the driver of the BMW.

He is said to be a white man in his 30s, with long blonde hair.

The man, described as being six foot with a 'large build', was said to be wearing dark clothing with a hood.

He left the area in the BMW in the direction of the A6, GMP said.

A spokesman said: "Police were called at around 6pm on Saturday 13 February to reports of an assault on Bramhall Lane in the Davenport area of Stockport.

"Enquiries suggest a dispute took place between the drivers of a black BMW and a red Toyota Yaris.

"The driver of the BMW – wearing dark clothing with a hood and described as a white man in his 30s, 6ft tall with a large build and long blonde hair – is understood to have smashed the window of the Toyota and made off with the victim’s credit card and car keys.

"The offender then drove from the scene in his BMW towards the A6.

"The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 2109 of 13/02/2021. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
