A driver has been slammed as “selfish” after being caught travelling at 104mph on the M9 through Falkirk.
Road Policing officers stopped the green coloured Mini on the northbound carriageway at J4 in Polmont around 9:50am on Tuesday January 25.
A 24-year-old man’s been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and could lose his license or be slapped with a huge fine and penalty points.
Earlier this week, we told you how a driver was fined for speeding through roadworks on the M9 at 80mph.
Taking to social media and posting a picture of the vehicle, Forth Valley Road Policing said: “About 9.50am on Tuesday 25th January officers from Forth Valley Road Policing carried out a check on the northbound M9 at J4 Polmont as part of the National Speed Campaign.
“This vehicle was recorded travelling at 104mph!
“The Mini Challenge and Scottish Mini Cooper Cup are track events, the maximum Speed limit for any vehicle on a Motorway is 70mph, unless otherwise stated e.g. for roadworks.
“The 24 year old male driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for the offence and faces losing his licence, or a hefty fine and many points.
“Travelling at this speed is unacceptable, selfish, and puts others' lives at risk. If you want to feel like a racing driver please book a track day.”
