Driver shamed for their 'ridiculous and unacceptable' pavement parking

A driver responsible for leaving no room on the pavement due to bad parking have been pictured and shamed on social media.

Liverpool Police posted a picture of a blue Citron Xsara with almost half the car on the curb of Stoneycroft Crescent, Old Swan.

Officers were patrolling the area on Wednesday, September 1, when they spotted the car, which left no room for people to walk on the pavement.

Officers decided to take action on the driver of the car.

Liverpool Police said: "Tuebrook PCSO's took action on the driver of this vehicle in Old Swan today. This is clearly unacceptable parking.

"You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.

"Please park responsibly. THINK!"

People labelled the parking as 'unacceptable' and 'a joke' after seeing the image on social media.

Lyndsey Harris said: "This is a problem and so glad police are getting this sorted as my family live there and it is worrying knowing people park like this, especially when having to walk on the road to get my in-laws.

"It's a joke especially for the emergency services."

JW Schofield said: "This is a daily occurrence in our crescent due to the businesses on the drive.

"We have a double buggy and we can never use the pavement at this end and it's even worse now due to two houses being refurbished and the builders vans glad somebody is finally doing something about it."

Natalie Jones said: "That’s ridiculous."
