Driver rushed to hospital as cops lock down busy Scots A90 after horror two-car smash

A driver has been rushed to hospital following a horror two-car smash on the A90.

Emergency services raced to the incident near to the slip road to Stonehaven following the crash on Friday, December 17.

Cops warned motorists the road was closed southbound at around 4:30pm and urged people to seek alternative routes.

One driver has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment following the collision.

It's understood there is queueing traffic due from A92 Montrose Junction to Fiddes Bridge Services.

Cops remain at the scene this evening where the southbound carriageway is still shut off.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said "Officers are currently in attendance at a crash on the A90 near to the slip road to Stonehaven. The crash involved two cars. One driver has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"The southbound carriageway is currently closed."
