Driver rushed to hospital after car flips onto roof in horror Edinburgh crash

A driver has been injured after his car flipped in a horror crash in Edinburgh.

The one vehicle smash happened on Waterfront Park, in the city’s Granton area.

Emergency services attended the accident that left a sporty white Mercedes on its roof.

Onlookers said the vehicle hit a tree at speed before coming to rest upside down at about 4pm today.

It is understood the driver was removed from the car - that was left with it’s windows smashed and boot lying open - and rushed to hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.

A police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 4.10pm on Sunday 4 October, officer were called to a report of a road crash involving one car on Waterfront Park, Edinburgh. Officers are still at the scene and ambulance is in attendance.”
