A driver accused of ramming another vehicle before driving at a pedestrian who was filming the alleged road rage incident in Adelaide's south has been refused bail.

Moana man Ryan Lee Simpson appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today charged with aggravated endangering life, an act likely to cause harm and drink driving over the alleged incident at Seaford on Saturday.

The prosecution said the 39-year-old was driving on Commercial Road when the driver of another vehicle noticed him travelling behind her in a white four-wheel-drive ute, beeping his horn and making an offensive gesture.

It is alleged the ute then drove erratically, weaving in and out of traffic, before coming to a stop in front of the alleged victim at a set of traffic lights.

The court was told the man then reversed into the woman's car, causing a significant impact, then drove about 200 metres up the road, did a U-turn and started driving on the wrong side of the road towards the woman's car.

The woman told police in a statement that she braced for impact as the ute crashed into her vehicle a second time, at up to 70 kilometres per hour.

"The witness said the male driver did not brake at all and appeared angry."

The prosecution said a second alleged victim was filming the collision, and that as Mr Simpson drove away from the scene of the crash he deviated and drove straight at the pedestrian who was holding a phone.

"It is lucky he was on the ball and saw what was going on," the prosecutor said.

The court heard the accused then abandoned the vehicle and chased the pedestrian on foot before he was detained by members of the public and police arrived to arrest him.

A solicitor made an application for home detention bail, saying the accused had limited criminal history and no prior breaches of bail.

However, magistrate Greg Fisher denied the application due to the seriousness of the alleged offending.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear again on September 15.
