Driver rescued from car after crashing into gate outside Easterhouse school

A driver had to be 'dragged from a car' after a road crash near an Easterhouse school last night.

Police raced to the scene outside Lochend Community High School at around 6.10pm yesterday after reports of a road traffic accident on Cairnbrook Road.

A member of the public managed to pull the man from the car before emergency services arrived at the scene.

One eyewitness told Glasgow Live: "It was quite frightening. There was debris all over the road.

"My dad dragged the person out of the car. He was quite shaken."

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Last night at around 6.10pm police received reports of a one car road traffic accident on Cairnbrook Road.

"One man was treated at the scene."

A Scottish Ambulance spokesman confirmed that one male had been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary following the incident.

Police say there are no further inquiries.
