Driver reported and car seized in Newcastle

A car being driven with no lights in Newcastle during the hours of darkness was a guaranteed way to attract the attention of officers from Northumbria Police Road Safety tonight (November 14).

Mobile officers signalled their intentions to talk but the driver of the vehicle ignored their approaches and failed to stop.

After eventually bringing the vehicle to a halt, police found the driver had no insurance and had committed various other offences.

They later tweeted: "Failing to stop will definitely mean we need to have a chat.

"Driver reported for numerous offences, including no insurance."

As a result of the motorist being unable to drive the vehicle legally, the car was seized.
