Driver reported after bus hits pedestrian in Edinburgh street

The driver of a bus which struck a pedestrian in Edinburgh will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the crash in Leith’s Henderson Street at around 7.40pm on Monday night.

Police confirmed there was a collision involving a bus and a 51-year-old man, who was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that the bus driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Details on the severity of the pedestrian's injuries are not yet known.

The road was initially closed in both directions on Monday night but was later reopened.
