Driver praised for response after branch smashes window of First Bus

Passengers on board a commuter bus into Bristol had something of a lucky escape after the branch of a tree smashed one of the upstairs windows.

The branch shattered one of the windows in the middle of the top deck of the X6 bus, as it made its way from Clevedon to Bristol, via Failand.

One passenger praised the First Bus driver for the way he dealt with the incident, which took place on the Failand Road, with everyone on board evacuated from the bus and a replacement bus summoned.

“All off the X6 for a smashed window,” said Katy Marshall.

“Excellent service from the bus driver. The driver was genuinely fantastic - not his fault at all.

“He made sure everyone was safe and got us all in another bus - great customer service,” she added.
