Driver of car 'linked to serious assault' arrested after cops find 'knuckleduster'

A driver has been arrested after being caught with a 'knuckleduster' and failing a drugs test.

In a post on the GMP Traffic Twitter account, an officer said that they spotted a Vauxhall Astra, which was allegedly linked to a serious assault, driving through the Great Lever area of Bolton.

Traffic cops stopped the car near Newport Road and after searching the driver, found him to be in possession of brass knuckles

The man also failed a drugs test and was arrested, while police seized the car.

A spokesman for GMP Traffic wrote: "XT18 sighted a Vauxhall Astra in Great Lever. Linked to a serious assault in Lancashire.

"Stopped near Newport Road. Driver was found in possession of a knuckleduster, also failed a drugs test + cannabis.

"Car forensically recovered and male arrested."
