A Mercedes was left badly damaged following a crash involving two vehicles on the M61 near Salford.
Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) were called to the M61 northbound, between junctions 3 and 4, following reports of a road traffic collision just before 7pm on Thursday evening (December 30).
One fire engine from Eccles attended the scene.

Crews from Greater Manchester Police and Highways England were also in attendance.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision, however a Mercedes was seen badly damaged in photographs taken at the scene.
Posting about the incident on Twitter, North West Motorway Police wrote: “Our ME24 attended an RTC on M61, one Mercedes involved came off badly, thankfully the driver is okay.”
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said they were in attendance at the scene for around half an hour.

In a statement, a GMFRS spokesperson said: “Shortly before 7pm this evening (Thursday 30 December), one fire engine from Eccles fire station attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the M61 northbound between junctions 3 and 4.
“The crew arrived quickly and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and Highways England to bring the vehicles clear of the roadway and make the area safe.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around half an hour.”
