Driver mounts pavement at busy Glasgow junction leaving car stuck on rocks

A car has been left stuck on top of a decorative structure in Glasgow after mounting the pavement this afternoon. Police raced to Anderston Quay around 2pm after a car became marooned on top of a rock arrangement in between two lanes underneath the Kingston Bridge.

There are no indication at this stage if anyone was injured, but a number of cars appeared to stop as the incident unfolded.

Several police cars were spotted around the busy junction, as they dealt with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 2.15pm on Tuesday, July 19, police were called to a report of a road crash on Anderston Quay, Glasgow. Officers are currently at the scene."

At around 6pm, cops appeared to have left the scene, but the blue car was still marooned on top of the structure.
